Ensuring good mental and physical health of its populace is one of the major goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030, which is why the annual National Sport Day was introduced in 2011 as a day to celebrate good health.
With this goal in place, Qatar has introduced a wide range of sports and activities for people around the country. A number of private organisations that provide instruction and/or facilities to practice these sports are also available. Apart from these, people are realising the importance of being healthy and this collective realisation has led to the formation of smaller activity groups which practice indoor as well as outdoor sports such as kayaking, paddling, yoga and many other innovative forms of fitness.
